The history of San miniato date back to the Lombard Age ( VIII century) as testified many discovery in the area, but is only with the Athenian age , in the X century, the city gained fame have today and become the artist and studious ‘s privileged destination .
San Miniato was developed on three ridges, in the middle of the most important lies of communication from Pisa and Florence, Siena and Lucca, it always been an important strategic place for the warning and defence, reason for fortified the city with three boundary wall and it assumed the fortress look.
